Wintry weather created dangerous driving conditions on Route 101 in Candia on Friday evening. At around 5 p.m. on November 28, 2025, State Troopers from Troop A responded to reports of two multi-vehicle crashes on Route 101 eastbound, just past Exit 3. The first crash involved four vehicles. Each driver suffered minor personal injuries and was treated at the scene. All four cars were later towed.
A second crash occurred soon afterward. Eight vehicles were involved. Those drivers also reported minor injuries and received on-scene medical care. Their cars were towed from the roadway.
While troopers managed these scenes, six more crashes happened in the same area. Officials believe the icy road surface and drivers traveling too fast for conditions contributed to these collisions. Due to the number of crashes and the weather, Route 101 eastbound in Candia was closed for about two hours. Crews from Candia, Auburn, Raymond, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation helped clear the road. All lanes reopened shortly after 7:15 p.m.
